Story

The never-dragging story is set at a beautiful village, called Aruvikkulam, and we meet all sorts of characters with their own tales of struggle and grit. In this mixture of humanity, we get to see a character naming a Tovino, who, out of turning to shallow tactics faking a medical certificate to leave the Army while being a young man in protagonist skin. Gradually while the story develops, we catch a glimpse of the normal activities and foolish quarellings of the characters’s everyday lives.

But life in the sleepy hamlet of Aruvikkulam takes a dramatic turn, when a killer flood disrupts everything. It’s-ever so plainly displayed, the vast difference between their everyday lives and the insurmountable problems caused by the flood.

It takes masterful skill to convey the level of fear and sense of desperation that grow once the water mounts and begins to swallow up homes until reaching the rooftops.

The man with a mission, director Jude Anthany Joseph successfully manages to interpret the saga that a thousand other lives went through during the disastrous event. He sensitively portrays the horrors, the heroic battles, the agonies that virtually tear the characters apart during this horrific period.

[This is] the skillful narration of the director that shakes the emotions and arouses sympathy toward the how hard the tragic lives of them are suffered by the audience!

With strong imagery and sad performances, this film illustrates a clear picture of the immense struggles these people must go through in a world filled with so little hope.

It’s a stark reminder of what the human spirit is capable of enduring, and how we can find strength in even the most unthinkable of circumstances.

In the end, Jude Anthany Joseph’s narration tastes like the untold tales of the people who fall Kamuki is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by.., It is still decorations to the stories individuals who have to deal with the nature disaster’s magnitude. Their ups and downs are shown at larger then life, it affects the hearts of those who watch.

Review

Tovino, Asif Ali, Lal, Indrans, Sudheesh, Narein, Kunchacko Boban, Kalaiyarasan, Gauthami and Tanvi Ram have performed their roles very naturally and skillfully. Similarly, the other cast members who portrayed mothers, fathers, victims and police officers presented more authentic feeling performances. Their portrayal was never exaggerated, but believable all throughout the film.

The track and the BGM were apt for the movie and they don’t overshadow it too much. Although there were times it could have been delved into more, lets not forget how difficult it is to give tragedy that this generation own, its proper due.

You have to give the best we can, and here Akhil P Dharmajan and Jude the filmmakers (you can see from the well written films) have done a good job.

However all praises to Akhil George for some spectacular camerawork that gives character to this film. Chaman Chacko’s editing too adds to the over all quality of the film. Also, it offers great visual effects that make things even more exciting to watch.

Overall, this one is a watchable fare. It does manage to bring the tragic story it takes inspiration from to life. Acting, writing, cinematography, editing and visual effects all come together in wonderful, highly effective harmony.
