Cheena Trophy

Cheena Trophy is a Malayalam comedy drama movie which is directed and written by Anil Lal. It is an entertaining comedy-drama film. The lead role is done by Dhyan Sreenivasan and it is produced by Anoop Mohan, Ashlin Mary Joy and Lijo Ulahannan under the banner of Presidential Movies. Devika Ramesh is new to the department in acting and she goes a notch higher.

Chef Pillai, Jaffer Idukki, Sudheesh, KPAC Leela, Devika Ramesh, Ponnamma Babu, Sunil Babu, Johnny Anthony, Jordi Poonjar and Narayanan Kutty too put in a fine performance that only enhances the story and makes it an interesting watch.

Story

Santhosh Anima did the cinematography and Ranjan Abraham did the editing of Cheena Trophy. To that, Sooraj Santhosh contributed a fine soundtrack that goes with the plot of this magnum opus.

Focusing on the life of the farmer, Cheena Trophy, narrates to the audience his/her ups and downs to the various twists that are given to him/her – relating to them in a manner that is visually marvelous, but emotionally enthralling. It is how it can take comedy and turn it into showing the wrongs in our society system – in just one movie you find yourself laughing at the comedy lines but yet crying over the situation of our society.

Release Date

Cheena Trophy will release on 8 th December 2023 and is sure to provide an off-beat cinematic experience. It has merged humor and social commentary to offer the audience of Malayalam cinema a unique watching experience. It is to the audience who seeks a light hearted yet thought provoking film experience.

Review

Cinematographer Santosh Anima works in the shadows and provides one visually striking frame after another. Ranjan Abraham as the editor who has demonstrated the ability to spin the narration of a tale with a subtle touch, Sooraj Santhosh joining hands with Varkey to provide music that rises above the emotional connectivity of the story arc presents another depth to visual descent.

Asees Karuvarakund contributes towards the visual beauty of the film as the art director. Arun Ramavarma does the sound design and he ensures that it is all right up to the mark to pack that punch. The Vithuras, Amal and Sajith have the responsibility of turning actors into characters as far as the makeup is concerned and to give that extra touch of reality and glamour to her work are the fantastic costumes designed by Kalyani.
