Story
Men Too is about those men whom the Me Too movement has made the collateral damage. It reveals how some women exploit this much needed movement (and wrong). futilely putting men on its cross hairs. The bar, Stags Only, provides the setting for male experiences of victimization.
The film is largely the story of three characters. Aditya works in a salesman, Sanju, who has come from the US after he is unable to adjust to the lifestyle and Munna who is an excellent bike mechanic. Everyone has big events in their lives that shape their stories.
Two of Aditya, Sanju and Munna’s significant female characters, Tara and Neha are closely linked themselves. Tara and Neha have crucial roles to play as events unfold and affect the lives of these men.
The true setting and gathering spot where lives intersect is the Stags Only bar. The bar owner (Brahmaji) is proved to be an important role in the film while Sudarshan, who plays waiter Jack Daniel is going to be in the limelight as well as of Viva Harsha who’s seen as Rahul.
The film delves into the tangled personal dynamics between these characters and the way their lives intertwine. It addresses some of the issues men have to deal with and what they face when they are wrongfully accused. Men Too hope to show how the worldview of the men caught in this web of lies and false allegations shape their lives.
During the movie, you see how these characters are all interlinked and also have an influence on each others life. We get the point of issue raising of MGM and WMS and the need to be given fair judgement and understanding in cases that is not only about men, but also about women.
The film effectively probes at such issues while taking a close look at the relationship dynamics between men and women in today’s world. It promotes gender equality and value on authentic empathy and solidarity with all people regardless of gender.
Review
The screen presence of Naresh Agasthya was attractive and kept the audience spell-bound. Thanks to his mesmerizing performance, he effortlessly commanded the spotlight. On the other hand, Kaushik Ghantasala is good as the confused US returnee.
With effects subtle and powerful, he showed a broad spectrum of emotions in bringing this character to life and made as all feel like that character. Of the three leads, what shined through the most was definitely Mourya Siddavaram- he was memorable.
his facial expression was sooo incredibly perfect and just omfg I’m so his expressions were so striking he was expressing things so convincingly and using body language very well to really give his character some authenticity.
Riya Suman had no screen presence but looked hot to add more charm to the film. Though short, she still got her audience in the mood.
Priyanka Sharma who is being appreciated for playing the role of Neha in the show Bade Acche Lagte Hain is satisfied with the way her character has shaped.
For their part Brahmaji and Viva Harsha did what was required with great panache and managed to give a strong image to the viewers. They really helped make the film what it was, giving it weight and realism.
This is the story of Men Too, as narrated by the gifted Srikanth Reddy, who sought to show the unexplored side of the Me Too movement. It talked about the plight of men when faced with false accusations from a few women.
It aimed to encourage empathy and unravel the subtleties and inequalities men encounter when in these situations.
In addressing this sensitive subject, Men Too fostered a deep conversation around power structures, equality, and the necessity of both fairness and balance in discussions pertaining to the Me Too movement.
Srikanth Reddy makes an effort to raise awareness about what men in these situations could be going through, and the result is commendable.
