The audience goes on an riveting journey as they observe the cops play cards thrumming the police play with Sethupathi and his crew throughout the movie. As the police draw closer to capturing the fugitive, the suspense mounts and the audience is kept breathless till the end, when the inevitable happens.

The film addresses some serious social issues, like the abuse of women and police brutality. The things Perumaal does and how he fights against these things is an inspiration to several viewers and this character of his only indicates that change can be now won over from the other side of the table, despite odds. The movie is part thriller, part action adventure and part social responsibility lesson on the capacity of just one act.
